Rust & Corrosion Inhibitor

Our Rust & Corrosion Inhibitor is a high-performance protective coating developed to preserve metal surfaces during storage, transportation, and service in aggressive environments. Its advanced oil-based, thixotropic formulation creates a durable protective film that helps shield ferrous and non-ferrous metals from rust, oxidation, moisture, and salt contamination.

The coating is designed to flow easily during application and then develop into a stable, semi-solid protective layer that resists sagging and runoff. Its self-leveling properties help maintain continuous surface coverage, even if the coating is disturbed during handling.

Features & Benefits

  • Provides long-term corrosion protection for stored or idle equipment*
  • Suitable for carbon steel, non-ferrous metals, and painted surfaces
  • Performs exceptionally well in coastal, marine, and high-salinity environments
  • Helps prevent rust, oxidation, and moisture-related deterioration
  • Thixotropic formulation delivers uniform coverage and minimizes dripping
  • Can be applied by spray, brush, roller, or immersion methods
  • Easily removed using suitable alkaline cleaning solutions when required
  • Ideal for protecting valuable equipment during storage, shipping, and preservation programs

*Service life depends on surface preparation, application thickness, and environmental exposure.

Recommended Applications

Recommended for protecting:

  • Equipment stored indoors or outdoors
  • Components exposed to salt spray or marine environments
  • Steel pipe, structural steel, and fabricated assemblies
  • Machinery awaiting installation or long-term storage
  • Equipment transported by land or sea
  • Industrial, marine, mining, and oil & gas assets requiring extended corrosion protection

Application Instructions

Apply the product without dilution to achieve maximum protective performance. Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of loose contaminants before application.

The coating may be applied using:

  • Airless spray equipment
  • Brush
  • Paint roller
  • Dip or immersion methods

For immersion applications, periodically agitate the product to reduce viscosity and promote complete, even coverage of all surfaces. A target dry film thickness of approximately 2 mils (0.002 in.) is recommended for optimum protection.

Typical Coverage Rates

Coverage will vary depending on surface condition and application technique.

  • Airless spray: approximately 450 sq. ft. per gallon
  • Paint roller: approximately 600 sq. ft. per gallon
  • Brush: up to 650 sq. ft. per gallon
